School was out this week and although it was quiet at Blu Moon it was a busy week for me. On Friday, April 26 I introduced three new works at the group show 12×12at Artspace MGQ. This was a great show, and the format for the work was 12″x12″ digitally produced work… an interesting premise with great results. The range of interpretation among the participating artists was very intriguing, and the presentation of the show, a “mosaic’ of lined up 12×12 inch images was very effective. I was very pleased with the series I created for this show.. entitled ” Nirvana”, consisting of three digital prints that I reworked with acrylic paint, silver leaf and colored pencil. Titled “Compassion” , ” Enigma”, and ” Dharma”, I think the three worked very well. On the evening of Saturday,March 3, I opened the doors of Blu Moon Studio for the first Saturday Gallery walk in the Grove. Along with my original artwork and giclee prints, I displayed examples of work created by my students in myadult acrylic painting class, my Portfolio preparation class, as well as my Mixed Media class for kids age 7-12. My visitors were given a tour of my beautiful art studio and enjoyed a glass of wine (or two) and some pleasant company. This will be an on-going event, and I hope to have some interesting exhibits and happenings as the year goes on.
