Portflio Prep. madness has taken over Blu Moon ! With only a few more weeks until the holidays,

and audition time rapidly approaching, we are in high gear and moving full steam ahead as we work

to get our ten pieces done!  As always, I am impressed and amazed at the dedication and focus of my

young artists who immerse themselves in my art classes… Portfolio Prep. isn’t the only thing going

on here tho, not by a long shot!  I am working with a great group of people in my painting and drawing

classes as well… and I have a new group of kids getting ready for middle school art magnet auditions. ON TOP of all this, Blu Moon

Studio is a participant in Coconut Grove’s First Saturday Gallery Walk, and I have an exhibit and opening reception every month.

My current show is a collection of my paintings dealing with themes of feminine archetypes … ” Goddesses Revisited” .

This exhibit will run thru Nov.25…  remember to support local art!

Blu  Moon Studio is 2 years old!!!! Time flies… and this has been a time of steep learning curves, great joys and deep fears…

I have had to dig deep to meet the many challenges I have faced in creating something from the ground up and maintaining a balance in all the different aspects of my life. Not an easy task, but a very rewarding one! I will remain dedicated to pursuing my own creative visions and providing the best guidance that I possibly can to those that come to me to pursue theirs. I hope when you consider all the art schools in Miami, that you will give Blu Moon Studio a try. I offer classes in painting and drawing for students age 7 to adult. I specialize in PORTFOLIO PREPARATION for students  who want to audition for the art magnet programs in Miami, such as DASH, New World School of the Arts and others. And by the way, the time to start preparing is NOW!  As I said before , time flies, and it is very important that students have enough timeto prepare for these very competitve auditions… Applications for the Art Magnet programs will be available soon… so if you are planning on auditioning, please stop by my studio to see what I can offer. Schools are cutting back on their art classes for elementary and middle school students, and Blu Moon has a great art program for these age groups. My mixed media classes for kids is a fun way for kids to express their creativity, and get a solid foundation in art… and my classes for adults provide a safe haven in a busy world to focus on the very important business of tending to your creative self. Blu Moon is dedicated to bringing creativity to the community and to sharing  and celebrating the creative life… please come by! HAPPY BIRTHDAY BLU MOON!!!!!

New Year, New Classes at Blu Moon Studio of Art !

2010 is in full swing, and Blu Moon Studio of Art is planning and moving forward into this new year, with new art classes for kids, teens and adults, as well as many interesting art workshops. I will be adding a basic drawing class, an intermediate drawing class ,a digital photography class and an open studio session. All this is in addition to my regular line-up of classes ; mixed media, acrylic painting and of course ,Portfolio Prep. for middle school and high school students preparing for Art Magnet auditions. I am currently revising my schedule and will have the latest edition published soon. I will post my new schedule here as soon as possible.
