Just a reminder about tonight’s ART HAPPY HOUR with Nancy Martini, Eco-Artist. 6-9p.m.
Hi!!
Meet us at our previous Happy Hour creating Art Cards!!
Meet us making Art Cards at out previous Happy Hour!!
I have recently added a Mixed Media class for adults on Wednesdays from 12 -2. I love working in mixed media because it unleashes a spirit of playfulness and fun into my work. Somehow, when I work with mixed media, I don’t take myself or my work as seriously, and I find that I expand my creative boundaries further. This attitude is then more accessible when I am working only in a single medium, and allows me to “free up” beyond my habitual creative strictures and blockages. I highly recommend trying mixed media… it opens up a world of unlimited possibilities and creative expansion, and it is a LOT of fun!
Starting on September 3 , Blu Moon Studio will be offering watercolor painting classes with well-known Grove artist Eileen Seitz . Stay tuned for details………
September 1st marks the date of Blu Moon’s 1st Anniversary! It has been so fast, and it seems like only yesterday that I first saw the space and fell in love with it. It has been a year of highs and lows, joy and heartache, hope and fear. Throughout it all runs a current of deep gratitude for having an opportunity to stretch myself in ways I never imagined possible. I relish the notion of being able to create something that is positive for myself as well as for others, and the community as well. It is a process that creates itself anew every day, and allows me the possibility of continuous growth and creativity. My intention is to continue to create and expand the concept of my studio and to invite others to participate and share in it’s evolution. Many thanks to all who have been a part of this past year, my students, friends, family, and business associates. You are all woven into the fabric of my dream , and have contributed greatly to it’s realization. Namaste, peace and love,
Sheri
I am looking forward to a new session of my intuitive painting class… Painting for Human Understanding. In this class you learn to paint expressively and intuitively…allowing your subconscious mind to guide your paintbrush… almost like a painting meditation. It is a very good way to relax and express yourself, while learning how to handle paint in a free and unrestricted way. I find this method of painting very beneficial because you are free of the pressure to make your work “look” like anything,… you are not trying to replicate something from the exterior world, but rather, you are exploring and expressing the purity and originality of your own creative process. The results are beautiful and spontaneous works of art that speak from your heart. It is a great class for beginners AND experienced artists, who may want to “loosen up” a little in their work. Saturdays… from 12:30-2:00. Offered in conjunction with Open U.
Blue Moon (3444 Main Highway) is having an Upcycled Art Happy Hour on Friday, August 28.
EcoArtist Nancy Martini will be demonstrating how to “upcycle” common food containers and make them into art pieces. Start saving heavy aluminum foil trays and cereal boxes to design and create beautiful embossed picture frames for framing art trading cards (last month’s project), or a small photo can fit in the frames, too.
Nancy’s own work consists of 95% upcycled materials like plastic bags, hangers, bottle caps, etc.The cost is $15 and the time is from 6 to 9 pm.
You can see a video of the process here: http://youtube.com/TheEcoArtist
RSVP: Sheri at Blu Moon Studios at 305.529.5006 by August 25.
